Science Experiment

We will be conducting a science experiment this week in class. We will be learning about motion. I thought a great way to learn about motion would be to use bouncy balls. Why buy them when we can make them? The experiment will use the ingredients listed below. If you have any questions or issues about the experiment, please contact me. If you would prefer that your child not participate, please let me know. We will be doing this activity on Thursday and Friday.

Ingredients:

• Borax (Laundry Detergent)
• White Elmer's Glue
• Cornstarch
• Warm Water
• Food Coloring

October Reminders

Yay!! I'm loving this colder weather. However, runny noses and sore throats will ruin our fun. We love to go outside for recess. Please send a light jacket or coat with your child so we can continue to play in the sunshine.

October is fire safety month. To celebrate we spent our morning with the Jefferson Fire Department. We learned all about the fire trucks, equipment, and fire safety. The kids enjoyed visiting with the department. We will be writing thank you cards this afternoon to show our appreciation.

Also, we will be attending the Pumpkin Puppet Show at the Carnegie Library. Please remember to sign and  return your child's permission slip.

Report Cards

Report cards and TPRI results will not be sent home today. They will be sent home on Thursday. I'm sorry for this inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.

County Fair

Tomorrow is our trip to the County Fair. Please make sure your child wears comfortable shoes and active wear. We will be leaving campus around 8:30 and will be coming back before 11.

Progress Reports

 I am sending home progress reports tonight. Please remember to sign them and return. If you would like to schedule a face to face conference to discuss your child's progress, I am available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:15 to 8:55 or after school from 3:40 to 4:15. If you would prefer to have the meeting on the phone, I am available during the same time periods.
